Allied Family Services is a Home and Community-based Service Provider (HCS), Texas Medicaid waiver program.
Our mission is to serve individuals with developmental disabilities to offer support, advice, and guidance while making plans for your future.
After a detailed discussion of your specific needs and desires we will prepare a comprehensive plan through the HCS program to help guide you toward those goals.

Allied Family Services is a Home and Community Based Service Provider (HCS). The HCS program is a Medicaid Waiver Program that provides community-based services and supports to eligible persons as an alternative to ICF/ID (Intermediate Care Facilities for Persons with Physical and Intellectual Disabilities). Services are available to persons living on their own, living with their family or host companion care. Services may also be provided to persons living in small group homes where no more than four persons may live.
Who is eligible for services?
Adults and children with intellectual disabilities or a related condition who:
- Meet the ICF/ID Level of Care (LOC) 1 criteria
- Are eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or eligible for Medicaid under one of the optional Medicaid groups covered by the program
- Require services that do not exceed the cost limits set by the state of Texas
- Are not enrolled in another Medicaid waiver program
- Choose to participate in the HCS program instead of the ICF/ID program
Services we provide
Case Manager – Each participant will have an assigned case manager who ensures that services are being provided to achieve the outcomes in their Individual Person Directed Plan. The case manager spends time with each consumer to ensure that the services provided are appropriate to meet their needs.
Supported Home Living – Training and assistance provided to individuals living in their own or family home.
Host Companion Care – This supervision and supports service can be provided by the consumer’s family or contracted foster family.
Skilled Nursing – Licensed nurses provide assistance education and monitoring of health/medical issues
Dental Treatment – Routine, preventative, therapeutic and emergency dental treatment up to $2000 per year
Provides assessment and treatment by licensed professionals as needed.

Day Habilitation – Training provided in a group setting to acquire, retain or improve self-help, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to successfully and safely reside in the community
Supported Employment – Assistance to sustain paid employment for individuals who require on-going supports to perform in a work setting
Respite – Relief care designed for families either short term, overnight or extended care sessions
Adaptive Aids – Devices or controls or appliances that enable a person to retain or increase their abilities to perform activities of daily living or control their environment
Minor Home Modifications – Modifications to an individual’s home allowing for community living and to ensure safety, security, and accessibility
